Mosquitoes. Aedes aegypti occurs throughout the tropics and subtropics where it is the principle vector of dengue and yellow fever. Its larvae are found in a variety of natural and artificial small, clean freshwater bodies. Larval development varies from 6 to more than 30 days depending on environmental conditions (Southwood et al. 1972).
